Frank Hutchins

Commercial & Industrial Director

  • Diploma in Urban Valuation

A specialist in commercial and industrial real estate, hotels, motels and processing plants and a wide range of project and property management assignments, Frank offers a pragmatic unconstrained business attitude and a desire for achieving client success. Clients include government agencies, banks, local bodies, energy companies and national and international corporations, for whom he has relocated or supervised the acquisition or disposal of real estate assets.

A Registered Valuer, Frank is also a Registered Property Consultant and Property Manager, inaugural chairman of the PINZ Taranaki branch and a former member of the Taranaki Land Valuation Tribunal. Educated at New Plymouth Boys' High School and Auckland University, Frank started full-time valuation in 1969 in a career that has included government service in New Zealand, Zimbabwe and London, and private practice in Taranaki since 1980 as a director of Hutchins & Dick.

Merv Hunger

Rural Director

As a rural director, Merv is a dual qualified registered valuer who specialises in Rural valuation and related property matters. After joining Hutchins & Dick in 1999, he registered in 2002 and then traveled overseas, managing a dairy farm in Ireland, followed by 50% sharemilking in Taranaki for serveral years. This successful practical experience, along with being born and bred on a dairy farm provides Merv with a solid background to advise on all property and farm management issues especially large scale intensive dairy operations. Other areas of expertise include lifestyle and specialist property including asset valuations for government and Iwi organisations.

Max Dick

  • Diploma in Agriculture
  • Diploma in Valuation and Farm Management
  • Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers
  • Fellow of the Property Institute of New Zealand
  • Member NZ Institute of Primary Industry Management

Max has practised in the rural sector since 1974, and is a specialist in dairying, sheep and cattle farming, broiler chicken units, specialist rural sector industries and compensation in respect of pipelines, well sites, transmission lines and road realignment. Farm supervision and ownership, together with a positive business attitude, are attributes Max brings to all clients.

Max attended Stratford High School and Lincoln University before beginning his valuation career in 1974. He joined Frank in 1982 to create Hutchins & Dick and a director for 25 years until 2007.  The directors are pleased that he continues to be a part  of the Hutchins and Dick team.

Roger Lamplough

Registered Valuer

Roger is a registered valuer responsible for the residential sector, and also undertakes industrial assignments.

Born and bred in New Plymouth, Roger was educated at Francis Douglas Memorial College and Massey University completing a BBS Degree majoring in Valuation and Property Management in 2001. After a period of overseas travel, which included teaching English in South Korea, he returned to New Plymouth and began his professional career in Valuation
with Hutchins and Dick in 2005.

Roger currently serves on the Taranaki Branch Committee of the Property Institute of NZ.
